Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

At Sonoma Behavioral Consulting, we know that reaching out for support can come with a lot of questions. That’s why we’ve put together answers to some of the most common things families ask about our services, process, and what to expect along the way.

  • What types of services do you offer?
We provide behavioral consultations, in-home ABA therapy, parent coaching, school support (including IEP guidance), and comprehensive academic and behavioral evaluations. Our services are personalized to meet the specific needs of each child and family.
  • Do you accept insurance?
We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
  • Where are services provided?
All sessions are conducted in-person or virtually via Zoom. Depending on the service, we may meet with families in the home, school, or community settings. At this time, we do not offer telehealth services.
  • What ages do you work with?
We work with children, teens, and families, typically ages 3 through young adulthood. If you’re unsure whether our services are a fit for your child’s age or stage, feel free to contact us.
  • Do you provide therapy or diagnostic evaluations?
Yes. We offer therapeutic support using evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT, and we also conduct academic and behavioral evaluations for learning, emotional, and social concerns.
  • Can you attend school meetings or IEPs?
Yes! We specialize in school collaboration and advocacy, including attending IEP meetings, helping interpret assessments, and offering strategies for classroom success
  • What conditions or diagnoses do you work with?
We support clients with autism (ASD), ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma (PTSD), learning disabilities, behavior challenges, and more. Every plan is tailored to the individual’s strengths and needs.
  • How do I schedule an appointment?
You can fill out our appointment request form or contact us directly by phone or email. Once submitted, we’ll follow up to match you with the right service and provider.
  • Do you offer court-ordered or forensic evaluations?
No, we do not provide evaluations for legal matters, custody cases, or court-related referrals.
  • 10. What if I’m not sure what service I need?
That’s totally okay! During your initial consultation, we’ll learn more about your concerns and help guide you toward the service that best fits your needs.
